Alternative to Byuakuya's method: fall off the edge slowly so that you grab on to the ledge. Now shimmy along the side past the steam and climb back up once you've passed it.

how do i get death mountain or valley whatever it is called? i just bought the new shield now what i made it past all the people and i went to the hot springs and everything what do i do?

I re-read this post and noticed something I hadn't before. Are you saying you are trying to get to Death Mountain by way of the hot springs? Because if so, thats not the right area.

Don't worry about it, you're supposed to find some way behind it and push it out (I think) but it's not part of the plot and doesn't get you anything.
