ds lite?

there is no novelty to the ds lite. the DS is a solid gaming system, with tons of great games to play, and the DS Lite's enhancements over the original design are a MUST. Once you play on the Lite, going back to the original DS is nearly impossible. The lite is smaller, lighter in weight, brighter screen, crisper visuals, bigger better stylus, better button layout.....its phenom.

Depends on your needs. Can you picture yourself actually taking it somewhere and getting a lot of use out of it away from home? If you think you'll rarely use it then just buy Wii games.
It's a fantastic little system though, my daughter plays it all the time.

A DS (Lite) is well worth the buy, do it. Tons of great games, online play, it's light , it's like a mini laptop....it's awesome. And don't forget the price....the price is beeeeutieful. The Wii isn't coming out with its heavy-hitters for another half a year or so...buy it.
