Game Patches over Wiiconnect24?

Have Nintendo confirmed anything about adding patches to some of the Wii games after release? For example, Red Steel won't have multiplayer over the internet, and this is one drawback for the game, couldn't Ubisoft add the online multiplayer on as a patch?

Theoretically, Ubisoft can add a multiplayer patch. And yes, Connect24 also adds patches, among numerous other things. that's if the developers want to add a patch, they don't have to

They could add patches nothing has been said but it is completely up to the publisher
