Gamecube Action Replay

Would anyone know how to get the action replay for gamecube that is also compatible with the wii to work because when i try using the AR my wii either resets itself or brings up a error screen and tells me to power off my wii. Also I know its not the wii because I can still play gamecube games on it. Does anyone know if there is a way I can get the AR to work or is it just a bad disc?

If your Wii is 3.0 or above in firmware, you're out of luck.
