For the first time I purchased two Virtual Console games. When I went to play either one of them on my LG HDTV, the screen showed invalid format, but I could still hear the sound properly.
After searching everywhere online, there was no solution provided that worked for this. I later tried switching the input cable and this worked successfully for me.
I originally had my Wii connected to the TV through a 5-component cable. I switched this to the 3-component cable that originally came with the Wii, and I can now play these two games.
Hope this helps anyone else that may have had this problem.
