My HDMI on my Plasma is being used by my upconverting DVD Player and my single component input on my Plasma is being used by my HD Cable box. That leaves me with composite (2) and S-Video. Because the Wii doesn't have technological output of the HDMI DVD player or the HD Digital Cablebox, I was going to settle for the S-Video connection for the Wii anyways.

I hear that with the Wii, S-Video is only slightly poorer then component. My concern is I also heard that the Virtual Console does not like outputing to HD TV without a progresive scan connection. S-Video is not Progressive scan.

Has anybody had (successful) experience with this kind of setup?

I couldn't tell ya. I haven't seen anything on here about S-video with the VC.
