I've heard that the 'side storyline' concerning the mystery princess is garbage, and should have been left out because it sidetracks you from the real storyline. But you don't even have to do it if you don't want, and I like the idea of a mini-storyline that has nothing to do with the main one.

The mysterious princess is the main story line....she helps you rescue Princess peach.

That would be disaster: day of crisis considering the game is based on the world pretty much imploding on itself and having a panic attack >.<
