Problem with Tennis on Wii Sports

Hi,
My girlfriend and I have been playing Tennis on Wii Sports quite a bit, as well as bowling.About a week ago it stopped giving ranking points after games. It still gives them for bowling, but for some reason no longer does for tennis. It just gives 4 dashes ( ----) where the score should be.

Anybody know why this is?

I haven't played it in a while, but I believe if you are playing multi-player on Wii Tennis you don't rank up or down. If you are playing 1 player you would. I believe bowling you rank up or down single or multi-player. Your score should still show but you wont receive points. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, like I said haven't played in a while.
