.rar and macs (need help)

well, i am having a problem with some downloads. basical they download as a .rar sometimes .rar.txt

I have been told that such files need to be "decomperesed" to operate...

but i have no clue how to do that.

if you help me rep is avalabil ( can't spell ) rember i am working on a mac

ahhh completely missed the mac part. Me dont know much about OS X

Yeah, thats what I use on my PC as well.

Technically there is no such thing as Winrar for MacOS...

RAR labs which makes winrar has a port of RAR for MacOS.
