Remove my Wii from internet

After searching, and not finding my answer. How do I unconnect from the internet? I had no problems connecting, but after connecting I'm unable to turn off my Wii completely. The LED goes from green to amber and the blue LED's slowly blink continuously. This behavior is driving us nuts(also keeping the dog awake) Thanks.

you may wish to leave it on so firmware updates are simple.
perhaps you really want to disable the blue light alerts in your wii's inbox settings?

Turn off Standby Connection for WiiConnect24.

This will shut the Wii completely off when you turn it off (power light will go red).

also.. in you internet options you can clear the settings after you choose your connection.
