Shimano Xtreme Fishing Out Now -1.052009-10-26 21:16:58Maura SMastiff has today announced that Shimano Xtreme Fishing is out now for the Wii™ in North America. And when they say ‘xtreme’ they’re not messing around! Although it’s fair to say that the game does of course include the more passive and traditional type of fishing, there’s also some pretty hardcore stuff in there including SCUBA diving with spear guns as well as bow and arrow fishing.

Players can kit themselves out with top-notch gear, including Shimano Voltaeus fishing rods, Hoyt bows, AMS Bowfishing reels and accessories and Muzzy arrow points. And don’t expect to be using that stuff on little tiddlers in tiny ponds either. Instead you’ll be exploring such exotic locations as an Amazon waterfall, submerged Mayan ruins and a shark-filled shipwreck, and taking on such predatory beasts as sharks, piranhas and alligators.

There are a total of three careers,12 tournaments and over 65 stages for players to participate in, as well as Free Fish mode where you can roam around the environments and fish where the fancy takes you. The multiplayer mode enables up to four players to battle each other.

Shimano Xtreme Fishing is rated T for Teen (Blood & Violence) by the ESRB.
