I recently sent an email to Nintendo(which i posted on the forums, go here to see it, http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-chat/40665-good.html ) and this was the first reply I got.

Hello and thank you for contacting Nintendo,

I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us in regard to
online gaming features you would like to see. I will forward your e-mail on to
the appropriate department for further review. While you won't be contacted
further regarding this issue, please rest assured that your feedback will be
taken into consideration when planning future products.

    Sincerely,

    Nintendo of America Inc.
    Sharon Matheny

I sent it twice and heres the second reply.

    Hi,

I appreciate your taking the time to share your comments with us regarding the
Wii video game system. Rest assured that your e-mail will be forwarded on to
the appropriate department for further review.

    Nintendo of America Inc.

I think this is just a polite way of saying "We dont care what you think"
This was obviously sent by someone whos job it is to just make people feel like they did something, when really, probably no one above minimum wage even read it.

And notice how they said future products in the first one..

well it's not like iwata can read everybody's e-mail, especially since some people write multiple e-mails...

but nintendo cares, however if i was them i would be like "i own a multi-billion dollar business, why would i care what some 14 year old thinks"

They always send these kind of messages.
I don't think they even read them

What were you planning on getting back from them?

They are a major company, and like major companies they only care about the opinions of the people that they pay.

i'm assuming they probably take a tally of what the email is about and then if they have enough complaints about the same thing they sit down and have a meeting and discuss what or if they can do something about it.

so for example if 500 people send an email about the wii code system in one day but only 200 people send one about the head set then they will think about the friend codes.

I belive this is what they do with game sequels too. Although this may only be in a perfect world.

Send it to Nintendo Power and try to get it in the magazine, that will get someone to read it at least.

Wiiwii: In a perfect world, perhaps.

Personally, I would be surprised if they truly did inform a superior, and if they did, he/she would simply delete the email.

Real life lesson #450: Send Nintendo an e-mail and you'll only get a canned response based on key words.
