The Official Pokemon Event Thread

Rather than making a new thread for every new Pokemon event announcement and release, I'll instead be reporting every new event Pokemon's release here. This includes Pokemon not necessarily all-that rare being released via password on the Dream World, things like that stupid Piplup, as well as all the important stuff such as event exclusive legendaries or events with move exclusivity. All Pokemon previously covered will be added to the second post, as will any new Pokemon detailed in the posts to come.

Feel free to discuss anythin' Event related, be it new or old events, anger at the Azure Flute never being released (damn you, Game Freak...), etc. Y'all keep on postin' as you normally would in all the event threads and such. Also, if anyone needs a copy of an event Pokemon you couldn't get your hands on for whatever reason, PM me. I'll have a clone(s) waitin' for ya in no time flat, free of charge. :thumbsup:

It's my duty as a mod t' do somethin' productive at least once every sixth months. Might as well be this thread. :lol:

Speakin' of (a lack of) productivity, after seven hours of ridiculous distractions, editing, typing and copypasta, the second post is up to date with every notable event; and some unspectacular ones as well; from '07 to ****in' 2012. But oh no, my work here is not done yet. 'Cause there're recent events I still gotta cover outside of spoilers! Fan-****in'-tastic. I COULD CRY TEARS OF JOY!

Genesect's wi-fi event is now active!​

Finally gettin' released overseas, this [STRIKE]Scizor clone[/STRIKE] better Scizor is finally available to us in-game. The details are as follows.

Only available on BW2, and just in time for your first playthrough; if ya wanna use somethin' so damn good, anywho. While none of these moves are event-exclusive, it only learns Solarbeam by TM. Signal Beam isn't learned until lv. 40 either, meaning this thing is just overpowered early-game and incredibly good late-game and obviously post-game as well. This is the first one released stateside as well, so for all y'all soft-resettin' wi-fi battlers, time t' get to it. Don't forget this thing unlocks those in-game events at the P2 Lab as well.

In terms of competitive battlin', I'm definitely curious to see where Genesect ends up. It's just outright superior to Scizor, though it doesn't get Bullet Punch or Pursuit. Without those tools, will it not further ascend Scizor's usefulness in OU and be banned to Ubers? Or will it be a nasty threat in OU to come for a long while? Either way, I'mma be usin' one to see how it works anyways. :lol:

I wonder who sweeps better; Volcarona or Genesect?

Er, this thing has no new moves, but that ain't why you'd want it; this thing's got it's broken-ass Shadow Tag ability. You can likely expect Gothitelle to jump up at least one tier. :lol: Unfortunately for y'all wi-fi battlers however, it's male. That means ya ain't gonna breed down the ability; except that we've got new breeding mechanics in BW2. Perfect time to remind y'all that males can now pass down Dream World abilities by holding an Everstone. A godsend from Trollfreak indeed.

The event goes active November 19th. But now's the time for some actual bad news: it's expected you'll need a one-time serial number from buyin' one'a those utter garbage official strategy guides for BW2. It won't be all-that easy to obtain one'a these unless ya go scour the internet for someone willing to trade.

Keep in mind this event is distributed only to Black and White 2. So much for me gettin' three moar Keldeo...
