Using my Laptops Wireless internet card as an access point for my wii

ok im no computer pro or anything but for a long while ive been able to connect my wii by using my laptops netgear connection(Itell PROSet wireless pc card thingy and it would have no problem finding that access point but now it wont find it anymore what should i do
