When you install orb you turn your PC into a kind of media server that shares selected folders onto the net witch you can access via your wii's web browser. So it works almost as you say because you can log on to a web page on you wii and the it would make a connection to your pc via the Internet and download the video. If the video is too big or your Internet is not fast enough the yes you have to wait for it to load just like you would on youtube.
