Wii:The Beginning

The Wii, what a difference a year (Nearly) makes.
With its debut came a great launch title in The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Along with that came a few decent titles, but were not nearly as great as Zelda. These titles were liked by some, and seen as a big disappointment by others, one of those was Red Steel. Controls worked well for the gun, (twisting the gun around on the screen added a bit more fun), but were not so good with the sword (lag seemed to be the problem, along with not being able to perform your own real strikes). Great party games were included as well, and got many non-gamers on their feet. Moms and Dads were found playing this, with such games as Mario Party 8, Wii Sports (included) and Rayman Raving Rabbads.

After Christmas we were treated with a few more great games (much to the dismay of Wii owners) with the release of games like, Super Paper Mario. Before these games were released and even after, gamers were found with nothing to play with, and looked to the Wii's virtual console for solutions, with classics from all your favorite previous consoles (Nes, Snes, N64 and Genesis), with games like Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time these helped tame many from giving up on their little white bundle of joy (although many did sell them), many stuck through and were waiting for what the future had in store for them. Delays of many of the great games set to come out in Spring/Summer, only added to the tension. Many like Super Smash Bros. Brawl, were delayed until the holidays.

Along comes Summer, and with it came Madden 08, and despite not being graphically superior to 07, it was an improvement for sure. At the end of August came the release many were waiting for, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Before this game though, many Wii owners were surprised to find their console had surpassed the 360 in sales, and were happy knowing for sure Corruption would sell a few more consoles.

Wii: The Future

Wii has done a lot in its lifespan, and has had its share of ups (passing the 360 in under a year, great games) and downs (Delays, long wait for good games to come). The future, for at least the end of 07 and early part of 08 is looking great.
Games like Smackdown vs. Raw, Super Mario Galaxy, Guitar Hero 3 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl are sure to be hits, and thats only the end of 2007. 08 sees the release of Mario Kart Wii (Wii-wheel included) and Wii Fit w/Balance Board, are also sure to be great successes. Along with other games that are not getting the spotlight that Brawl and Galaxy are receiving, games like Battalion Wars 2, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and completely new games like Sadness are sure to be classics. All that aside, what the Wii needs to do, and I am sure we all agree, is continue to have great games come out, and not have any big downs, but have big ups. Surprises await us Wii owners, that is for sure, as not all of Nintendo's plans are revealed, I am sure we are in for a treat. Wonder what two years later will bring us if after one things have looked pretty darn good..

Also letting you know, this was written by me.
Hope it was a good read.
