ejecting the disc

ok can some one explain the "CORRECT" WAY TO TURN OFF AND EJECT THE CD FROM THE WII i dont want to take any risks and how do i get new hats and cloths for my mii???? please

safest to not lose game saves: back out of the game as far as possible, to games title screen... hit home button... -- you may get a warning "may lose data" but i haven't lost data.

once your in the channel menu hit the eject button, no powering down required.

i've not created a mii for awhile... last i knew hats didn't exist, but people were creative by oversizing blonde eyebrows to look like crowns.
