For those who've played both, which is better:Sonic or Mortal K

I got a 9yr old who has about 40 games b/t DC, PS, GC and N64. 99% of the time he only plays 2 games, Sonic and Mortal Kombat. I just bought a Wii, and I'm not sure which to get him first. I'm not asking u to compare the games, b/c I do know that one is a fighting game and one adventure. But which do u think he would have more fun playing, considering things like the new controls and if the game play is diff'rnt from the old consoles.

I say Mortal Kombat. There's so much to do; Kombat, Konquest (awesome 1 player story mode), Racing, Kreate-a-character.

I think they are both decent games. I'd have to lean towards Mortal Kombat though, simply because I found Sonic to be a little frustrating to begin with, and could deter the initial fun. Though once you understand how to play (and memorize the same level 3-4 times) it's fun.
