I'd also add two more TYPES of costumes: classic and 64!
New Items: Pikmin Onion (Pikmins jump out and attack opponent-s-), Bomb Mask (explosion affects everyone but mask wearer), Stone Mask (character blends into the background), Garo's Mask (character gets a ninja to help them)

Too many characters from the same games. SSBM was good because the characters were from all over the place. Gave it some variety. This is just a list of characters that are in certain First Party games, whether they have an important role or not. I'm sorry, but I don't think you've put a lot of thought into this.

Also, Metroid wouldn't be a very fun character to play.
