I'm looking to move to America with some friends, what is the best place to live in America in your opinion?

By best, I don't necessarily mean the cheapest.

Also, what processes (besides getting a Visa) will I have to complete to be able to legally live in America.

I guess would ask:

Do you care for the beach/ocean? Do you like snow?

What kind of city vibe do you like? Big/small/art/politcal/nightlife?

What is your budget?

Are you going to school?

What do you do/will do for work?

Do you want to own a car? Public transportation?

I have to agree with [DT].

It's only best to move if you know that it will be beneficial to you. That is, in terms of an education.

Isn't it pretty tough to move here? I think its going to be more than just a decision that you decide to make. You've got a ton of forms to fill out, have to pass a test pertaining to our history, and then you're still not garunteed entry.

To answer your question... Not Ohio.

I am well aware that it will take a lot of work.

I am only 18 at the moment but money is far from an issue as I have a high paying job.

I currently work in direct marketing, but I would prefer to go to University and hopefully get a job as a programmer.

EDIT: Thanks for the link Syntax.

Might as well start learning our differences now, if you're going to live here.

I've had a few friends who have been to the states and they say you guys give them free food/beer just for asking for it with an English accent

Is this true?
