Batteries

Has anyone used rechargeable batteries in their wiimotes? It says in the manual that you shouldn't and you should only use Alkaline batteries.

What's everyone's experience? I'm still on the original batteries and I've bought some Duracells.

I want to use my ultra high capacity 2600 rechargeable batteries, but I don't want to screw anything up.....
