Nintendo announced today that Beat the Beat: Rhythm Paradise will be dancing into European stores on July 6. This is the first time that the game has appeared on a home console rather than a handheld, with the Wii version featuring 50 brand new rhythm games, as well as the eccentric characters and silly situations that Rhythm Paradise fans know and love. From playing golf with mandrill to controlling a flowerpot-punching karate man, everything in the game has to be done in time to the beat in order to win. Gameplay is all about not letting the madcap antics on screen put you off keeping the beat in time to the music. Even so, you’ll want to take time out to watch the short stories that accompany each of the 50 rhythm games, all of them steeped in familiar Rhythm Paradise humour. Also, as a European exclusive, fans will be able to switch between the Japanese and English soundtracks covering many musical styles. Another new feature of the game is the ability to check the correct performance of each song to help you master the required rhythm.

Some of the games can also be played in co-op mode, which is where you get to invite a friend to play with you, with the aim being to play together, with each of you mastering the different rhythms; the more compatible you are, the higher your score. You can also challenge a friend to an Endless Dual Game, where the action gets progressively harder the further you go.
