Cheesy thread title is cheesy.

I just wanted to make a thread for the few times I'll be able to get on here while in Afghanistan.

Judgin' from said cheesy title, I trust you'll be makin' a B-list movie 'bout your heroic exploits as well?

Not much heroism to be had if the Taliban wont come out to fight cause they think it's too cold outside. Sadly, this is not a joke.

Tried doing a blogger for it?
Some people from other sites might be interested

Actually: stir-fry (Chicken or beef), shrimp scampi, chicken alfredo, assorted veggies and fruits, yougurts, and pie (Pecan or cherry)

The eating like kings thing will end soon when we get left with Chef Bouradie style spaghetti and mystery meat.

I can't quite remember the last time I had stir-fry.

Huh, I'm surprised it ain't... uh, "mystery meat" from the start. Whomever in the government allotting the spendin' on decent food for soldiers clearly understands the impact on morale a stomach full'a good eats has.

From what I've heard; possibly a load'a ****; the Navy ain't as kind. Soup, slop 'n bread. All day every day.

Maybe back in the day, but as you said, food effects morale, and the government knows it

It's a touchy subject. There are things we are and are not allowed to talk about while out here, for safety purposes. I can say that I drive an MGS. Its sort of a tank with wheels instead of treads. But from what we are told the MGS isnt going to see much action out here. So I'll probably be doing foot patrols. Looking for IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices. Literally a bunch of garbage and home made explosives the Taliban have learned to Mcgyver together into **** that can do enough damage that ranges from blowing off your foot to destroying an entire vehicle.) Thats the most dangerous part of our jobs. The Taliban hide these IEDs pretty damn well sometimes. Some are burried in the ground or roads, some are disguised as something innocent like trash on the ground or a vase or anything you can think of. Sometimes they make them to specifically lure us in. Like disguising them as a pack of cigarettes or even a porno magazine. Imagine needing a smoke, finding a pack lying around somewhere, being dumb enough to check it, then suddenly your brains are all over the place. Not a pretty picture but it happens a lot.

Hideo Kojima took week long classes from several different military branches from several different countries to make sure he could get as accurate as possible to real military tactics. He might have even taken the same IED prevention classes Ive taken and got a few ideas from it.

[STRIKE]Treyarch's devs could learn a thing or two from Hideo Kojima.[/STRIKE]

Bodine, I hope to see ya on G4's Bomb Squad.
