Connecting Through Proxy

i cant connect to the internet with my wii, i use nintendo wifi usb connector but i am at uni and our internet uses the proxy called resnet, i keep on getting error 52240 can somebody help

I was told, go to a friends house, get the update which will allow you to enter the proxy settings.

OR

there is another way using VPN and forwarding the messages to the windows box on your laptop. That you'd have to ask someone like Vagrant.
