is nintendo star points the same as wii points

is this the same as wii points that are used on the virtual console?

No, the star points are for UK only which I am guessing you are or you won't have them, and they are used to buy things like wallpapers and stuff.

But soon you can exchange stars for Wii points.

Go to your shop channel and set it up in there, it will ask for your Nintendo password and stuff.
