Mario Party 8 help

I have just purchased the game and would like to know how i connect a second controller to play with two players. Please help.

with the one remote already on, press the home button, then wii remote settings, then under connection push reconnect. then follow the instructions.

OR you could do it the much simpler way and just hit home and press a button on the second remote while aiming it at the screen?

well, if your using a friends remote from another console, it can cause trouble imo (happens to me all the time) it should only take a few minutes to do, but always use the 'sinc' button if all fails
