Do i have to buy Wii Internet or do i only need my Computer
yes, the broweser is 500 wii points ($5US)

  • there is no monthly fee... it will use your current ISP.
    • for broadband use a wireless router
    • for dial-up, use nintendo's wireless USB adapter (this is a last resort -- turns your PC into a wireless router)

well basically using my laptops internet connection and sharing it with wii using wifi. it should be possible with adhoc connection, the wii detects the network ssid, but then when it test the connection i get a error code. tried manual and auto settings on the laptop and wii, same prob. im no network expert, i think that my adhoc settings is incorrect, or the interent sharing is incorrect.just not sure which settings it should be on. If you know. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

confused.

Hey, Pro Gamer. I'm having problems adding friends to my address book. When I try adding friends, we both get an "error" message that basically says both parties have to adjust internet settings. What does that mean?

Ok, I'm up at college and my girlfriend got a Wii for Christmas. We can get it online at her house just fine on the wireless but up here at college they have enterprise-level encryptions and it asks for the WPA-PSK (TKIP) password and the internet up here has so many security things on it. I don't have a clue where to find this at since it's at school and not my own personal router. I've called and emailed the IT people here to see if they could help resolve it and they said they have no answer for it and I've tried to contact Nintendo with no success. Is there a way to find that password anywhere through my wireless connection? Also I just bought a LAN adapter that connects to the USB port on the back of the Wii to see if it will work that way because I can get on XBOX Live with my 360 up here when I'm plugged straight in, so I thought if I bought that Adapter for the Wii it would work. But it didn't and the error for that is always 52221 when I try to connect. The activity light and internet lights come on and flash like its receiving the internet but just can't get connected. Does anyone know anything about any of this? Thank you.

You should get your own router. Then the lan adapter will work.

Help! Error Code: 52030

Howdy.
I've had my wii up and running and connected to the internet since the first day that I brought it home, and Its never given me any trouble. I don't consider myself a computer whiz, but I can usually figure out what the problem is, (even if I can't fix it)
Long story short, one day my Wii stopped connecting to the internet. Or rather was "Unable to connect to the Internet." So I tried all the normal fixes, like cycling power to my router (Linksys model: WRT54GS) Cycling power to my Wii, testing the connection using my computer [which works fine] and anything else I could think of. (I didn't pick up my Wii and blow into one end however, even though this usually worked for my NES)
So I'm stumped.
Here's the kicker though. The Wii is still able to detect the internet, and informs me when I enter an incorrect WEP key. So it can detect the internet, knows when the WEP is wrong, but when I enter it correctly and perform the connection test, I get Error Code: 52030.

Help?
