Not usin' Repels in the hopes of findin' a shiny ain't worth your pain. 'Less you don't mind Zubat hordes, in which case what's wrong with you? Squidface too for that matter.
Also, IMO shinnies you chained/bred/SR'd for > random ones

I have yet to find a shiny through breeding.
Nor have I, sadly. And let me tell ya, I've bred my fair share of eggs. If I had a lot of foreign parents for my competitive 'mons, perhaps I would've found a shiny via breedin' by now...
