Firstly I don't need names, simply just what it is like, unless the name contributes to however good or bad it is or whatever, but really I want to know is what its like.

My town, is full of druggies, alcoholics and rapists. You name it, and really to be honest we are not even a town, merely a village

Population is about a little over 10,000 people. People here can't walk home late at night, even at 10:00 without getting into some sort of trouble, people will tell you that if you are out late you basically will get f'd up. No one messes with me though.

And we got our vandals of course, but who doesn't have those. Our music scene here is pathetic. If you look past all that, where I live can be a great place, some people are nice, the only real problem is despite the craziness that could ensue, it tends to be a bit boring here. Only a few decent looking girls in town as well , so if you want to hang out with some you usually need to go out of town to do that. Old people also like to come here for retirement for some reason, I don't even know why. I guess bad people are appealing nowadays or something. Things tend to happen, and people do disappear despite the size. When I get the chance to, I am not staying here

Well now, hows your situation?

haha my town? about the same as yours really. maybe a lil worse..I have to act like someone im not constantly to get along around there. Im white in a town which is 90% peurto rican (nothing racial) so i need to worry sometimes. Ive had a knife to my throat for 2 dollars. yea TWO DOLLARS! ever since then ive been carring a knife on occasion. if i think i need it. most girls are complete sl*ts where if i wanted to, i could go up the block and get some action( i dont though, i dont need it). yea...that pretty much sums up my city. that and a few other things mentioned by Cantgetawii.

BTW this is not exageration if you doubt any of this

my city, its a great place if you want to see movies and go shopping. sucks if you want to play ddr or any arcade game. its like all the arcades border the city. other then that, its nice.

My town is like a little island, pretty neat actually if you can get past the fact that there is really nothing to do here. Anyway, you go over a bridge on both sides to get here or to leave. There is a way of getting out which leaves out the water for the most part, but this is a really old road and not really part of the highway system at this point (so, almost like an Island). Pretty small town, probably a few thousand now. Not much crime to speak of, but the county is known for being a drug area; however these people generally keep to themselves as their paranoia can probably tend to get the best of them. Anyway, all in all a nice little town that I like to escape the ways of the city life every so often.

the place around here isnt too bad, i've got a few video's up on yourtube, that show the surroundings. just search for my username. and your bound to find some.

My Town has a population of over 330,000, and is a london borough.
it's got great transportation links, with trains going to London victoria 24/7 that take from 14mins to 16. It also has great bus links as well as a tram system, an old airport and the tube system is being planned to make a move down here.
At the moment house prices do not represent how good the travel links to london are, with trams running every 7 mins, and trains to london every 5/8 mins, it's great for the commuite.

As a whole the place is looked apon as a dodgy place, with a chavy hairstyle named after it, there are often shootings, stabbings and sometimes even drive by's, so at night it isn't the safeist of places. During the day it is fine, the town centre has a huge shopping centre, split into two halfs by the high street, which infacts has two different shopping centres on each side, one of them holding the last allders store in the country, and is the 4th biggist department store in the UK. many famous people reside, studied or come from Croydon, to name a few; Derren Brown, Ronnie Corbett, Steve Kember (old chelsea football player), Kate Moss, Katie Melua, Luke Pritchard, Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash.
and i love the palce :)

Hm, I live in a city, very close to the middle.

My city has, and a lot of the british people around me will agree, one of the worst most peculiar accent in the whole of England, and, no, we don't have one distinctive accent.

Well, yeah, obviously it's Capital of Culture 2008 which we won over Oxford, which came as quite a surprise. It basically means we have a lot of money to spend on making the city look perttier and having that new stadium that we need.

We are the only city to have two cathedrals and are the most Catholic area in Britain. The anglican cathedral is actually quite pretty, I think my great grandad was in the building project as well as the Mersey Tunnel. So, there's quite a lot of architecture, and there's the Liver buildings, not pronounced like liver. Too many tourists approach me in what way to go. There's St George's and the museum, but I rather dislike the museum as it only has few amounts of fish and insects.

Actually, I think it's much more advantageous living in the city because you have all the shops around you and many many many bus routes. I actually get a free bus pass in September so it's verry convenient for me. There's every kind of shop, and you can pick from more than one that specialise in the same area, of course.

Of a night, though, just, don't go outside. None of you have mentioned anything good about your area, but all things bad, you haven't seen what mine is like. Police patrol the major crime areas at night regularly, often the way you are dressed will often get you into a fight, or, if you even make eye contact with someone they think you're their enemy. People pry on the old people, and anyone they recognise as weaker than them.

There's a fair bit of stealing, people will take anything, usually 2 houses get broken into at Christmas time in my road, which quite saddens me. My neighbour's bikes are constantly stolen and the sheds are always being broken into. Never ever leave your sat-nav on show or leave anything in your car. In fact, don't have nice plants in your garden either.

Nhm, music, I don't see how this comes into this, but of course we gave everyone the Beatles who I am not much of a fan of because it's so not my generation. Everyone has music tastes that vary, but obviously if you're in a city the majority of people choose rap, although you get the goth and emo congregations of a Saturday in the city centre. Everyone has their cliques and their areas, I just walk everywhere.

Oh and, there's that football team I hate, Liverpool FC. I hate it because the fans are so arrogant, when supporting doesn't match up to the skill of people on the pitch, if you support the opposite football team, they'd laugh and think they did all the work. I remember when West Ham won something and I ran around the city centre finding all the evertonians, if I was lucky, some West Ham supporters. Everton's ground is moving though, seems a shame for all those who had ashes scattered over the ground.

My city: Vancouver, BC

For the past twelve to thirteen years I've lived here in Vancouver. From what I've heard Vancouver, BC has been ranked one of the nicest places to live and or visit in the world. Vancouver is well known for its hockey team, The Vancouver Canucks, which captured the North West Devision Title last year. However thats not all we're known for. Another well known sports team here in Vancouver is the BC Lions. Last year the BC Lions won the Grey Cup and are currently 5-2 this season I believe. Other attractions this city has to offer are its beaches, parks, golf courses, restaurants, malls, etc.

Unfortunately living in Vancouver can't always be that nice. Throughout the majority of the year it is known to rain a lot here in Vancouver. About two years ago we broke the record for consecutive days of rain with about 28 or more. However compared to some of the ongoing problems it's really not that bad. One problem Vancouver seems to be facing at the moment is a GPU strike which has lasted about four weeks already. As it stands the local Garbage Men, Community Centres along with other programs have been closed due to the strike. Finally the last problem we face is with homeless people.

Bah, I think across England is pretty much the same with teenagers and such. For a start teenagers are stereotyped as bad due to the ones that cause trouble (Chavs usually). And if you fancy a fight, just look/walk past/don't-even-acknowledge a chav, and you've pretty much guaranteed your wish.

I live in a city, play in a dfferent one, and go to school in a different one. Nothing much happens around here. We have our wal-mart a couple blocks away from our house. Everything is really close. The movies, the mall, Gamestop/ebgames and everything else youy need. But I live in a society where every kid is inside their house like 24/7 so it gets really boring. A couple days ago we heard gunshots but nothing since then.

im in London,Ontario,Canada..where it takes 45mins to travel from the north to the south end when its only like a 20min drive if there was no traffic!

our malls such! no APPLE STORE! NO HOLLISTER?!
