Does wii work with any other games discs?

Got the wii for the kids this Christmas with wii sports. I saw in the wii gamers guide that there are many many games for the wii.

Do any other game (platforms) work with the wii? Can I use another Nintendo game disc with the wii?

Just nintendo gamecube wich you need the actual controller in order to play the game. Unless you somehow mod your wii to play ps2 games or what not.

Yes, you can play Gamecube games on your Wii.
But you need a Gamecube controller to play them, and a Gamecube memory card to save your data.

The Gamecube ports are found on the top of your console, under the white flaps.
