I sent away for (well, requested) a free copy of Kubuntu. is it good? is it scary to install? after i install, what happens to Windows XP? Can I get rid of it if i don't like it?

lol, partitioning will probably be the hardest part. Yes you can get rid of it. ANd you can keep all of XP and it's settings. Called dual boot. You'd just pick which OS to run when you start it up.

You should also be able to boot the CD as a live OS, which won't overwrite anything on your system but let you run the apps and stuff, and try it out before you install it.

Hm...if you have a gig or better USB..I'd run it off that. Probably a bit faster than the CD, at least writing to it.
