Actually, its more like Nintendo is the face of gaming. Im pretty sure Nintendo hasnt produced a single game that had a heel main character. Correct me if I'm wrong.

you're both right. Nintendo is the face of gaming, and Mario is their as the representative, as he is the best of them all.

In my opinion, Zelda is the better franchise. Even though Mario is the mascot, i still think most people hold Link in higher regard.

Yeah, that's what I said.

Link is just there, which is good for the game so that you can feel like you're Link, but makes him less of an individual. He looks cool and has cool abilities, but there's hardly any personality.
