need help please

hey guys i just bought a wii and also the game harvest moon magical melody.

the problem i'm having is that when i put the game in i cna't get past the front of the game which says press start. Yes i did purchase a classic controller and i plug it into the bottom of the wii remote but i still cannot get past this part.

i press start like crazy on the classic controller but nothing. it works in wii menu but it doesn't in the gamecube game. CAN you guys please help me!

if this is a gamecube game which i think it is you need a gamecube controller not a classic remote

and i dont know what harvest moon is on the advert it just looks like you have fun on a farm

Yeah you bought the wrong controller. You must play GameCube games with a Gamecube Controller lol

Once the gamecube game is loaded up in the Game channel there is only one controller that works, this is the gamecube controller. You can find them quite cheap now really and they a work with a lot of virtual console games too, but the classic controller works with all of them.
