One of the things that attracted me to the Wii was that it would be cheaper than other consoles, so I'm not very happy to learn it's £179 in the UK at launch.
At least the games are cheaper than other consoles.

£179 is cheaper than the other console though. Id rather that then a second rate 360 core console which misses the main selling feature of the xbox (the hard drive).
Americans need to stop moaning and be glad they arent in the uk where the wii adds up to $330 (about) on a straight currency conversion on its own. Not only that they get it 3 weeks earlier than us for no apparent reason.

think of it like this, you do the same thing with the 360 or ps3. to buy xbox live arcade games costs like 4 dollars each

i think its a great price for the next generation, remember when gamecube came it was 200 dollars now we know the wii is 250 dollars. Its only 50 dollars more people. And since the controllers are the whole point of the wii I think the price its at is perfect
