Its a machine it will heat up to a certain point when the fan is not running, Its all good even if it gets really warm aslong as it isnt unbearable to touch then dont worry about it.
WiiConnect24 is used so that when you recieve an email it alerts you immediately. Its also used to DL updates so that when you turn your Wii back on its ready to go.
