Let's try an example: Pokemon. Fun games, and without a doubt one it hauls in money.
Money=power of influence.
Therefore Pokemon is influential in the gaming industry.

I said I don't care what effect a console has on the industry because I don't actively care about the industry, I just care what fun the console I intend to purchase is. Don't care, and don't believe certainly aren't the same thing.
