Wii led light

I cant get my led light by the cd tray to stay on like the commercials is it possible just to have it stay on?

Doesn't work. If I get a msg while my Wii is off then it will glow blue but, the second I turn it on, it stops.

I also have the sam problem i even tried tried buying differnet games but it still doesnt come on
