I'm probably upgrading soon as I need signal conversion and nothing I read before I got the AVR-147 told me that it didn't do that. So I'll probably bump up to the AVR-247. I'll get 7.1 and the auto-adjustment w/ mic thing out of the deal too.

I'm in an apartment and don't listen to stuff very loud so I don't need the extra power of the higher-end units. Even HK's low-end units are very, very nice.

Cool, I'm just kind of shopping around and used to be a big fan of HK (it was timely you posted that pic). The 745 I *think* handles component to HDMI and also includes a terrific Faroudja upscaling processor (though I think since it's a touch older it only does 720P and 1080I now that I look at the specs).

Again, at some point a HT or AV type thread would probably be fun and educational
