Sleazy teacher watched porn on school computer as he taught teenage pupils

A SLEAZY teacher at a fee-paying school was caught viewing porn - while teaching a class of 13-year-olds.

Dr Jeremy Dobson, 35, went on to websites which featured pictures of naked and half-naked women.

The science teacher also took a memory stick with pornographic images from his home to use on school computers during class time.

The dad-of-five even tried blaming his behaviour on his wife's post-natal depression.

Dobson is said to have checked various adult porn sites at his home to see if he could access them at school. The incidents all took place over the space of a week.

The physics teacher was rumbled by the IT department at the private Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen after Dobson showed high levels of web activity.

He appeared before the General Teaching Council in Edinburgh yesterday, Dobson, of Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, who represented himself at the hearing, admitted the charges of using the school system to access pornography but, in mitigation, blamed his conduct on depression.

He said: "I'd like to accept the facts of the case and apologise for my actions. After moving to Aberdeenshire we continually struggled with debt that caused great distress on my marriage. After having our latest baby, my wife suffered from postnatal depression and I had to deal with phone calls from her every day while I was at work.

"I had two written warnings about my attendance due to looking after my wife.

"I was stressed and needed help. I hated myself. I hurt no one but myself and my family and there were no child protection issues."

Gordon Crosher, head of Robert Gordon's IT department, had a disciplinary meeting with Dobson in 2007.

Downloaded female images had been organised into separate folders with titles such as "hard core".

He was instantly dismissed.

He received a reprimand which will stay on his teaching record for five years at yesterday's hearing.

Panel chairman Colin Kirk said: "Both charges have been proved. Considering the nature of the charges, the standards fall short of what is expected of a teacher."

Something like that happened earlier in the year. My teacher forgot to freeze the Smart Board, and so went onto a porn site with the whole class unknowingly watching. We were pissing ourselves, and I think he only got a minor telling off.
