The Post-Game Thread (now with moar games!)

Nice to see you finish off so many games
Are you going to play Majora's Mask after OoT?
Majora's Mask looks quite old...and not to be that kind of person, but I can't stand that great downgrade of graphics.
I could deal with Path of Radiance's because Fire Emblem relies on it a bit less. I really think missing some small things in Zelda will hinder the fun I have.

After OoT, I'll play Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. Then I can finally start Hyrule Warriors. I was hoping to at least beat Radiant Dawn before Smash 3DS came out, but I missed the deadline. I doubt I'll be able to finish these three games before Smash Wii U releases, and that'll keep me occupied for a while.

Well, OoT is older, Majora's Mask came out right after it. The graphics aren't that bad and it has good controls. On top of that it's basically my favorite game.

Tried DS2 to see what's changed. PARRYPARYRYARSPRARYPARYPARYRPAPPARRRYPARRYPARRYPARYYRAPPARYYPARRY

Never woulda thunk you'd to be a graphics horse. Shame. Shaaaame!

MM has aged quite well, and is considerably shorter than most Zeldas. Sidequests could potentially be a nuisance due to the specific schedule you have to follow, but the main game itself is still good.

But Ocarina 3D is newer. And on a system that isn't dead yet. It can also literally be played in 3D.

The game may have good controls, but my GC controller sucks. I had a lot of problems with attacking things I didn't want to attack in Path of Radiance, and moving units to places I didn't want them (what with the cursor going everywhere at times). I was actually happy to be able to use my Wii remote for Radiant Dawn, despite not having access to my Nunchuk too.

Both of those LoZ Gamecube games take place in a 3D environment. In Fire Emblem, I only have to use the cardinal directions.
I can expect Zelda to be very precise about movement / speed and any mistake I make (even if my controller makes it) will likely get Link killed.

I really can't see half of what I'm playing. Compared to what I'm used to, it's unmanageable. >_>

So I've heard the world ends in three days. I'm not much for sidequests until I get to the last part of the game anyway.

I played Ocarina of Time on the N64, Gamecube, Wii with Gamecube controller, and the 3DS. It's all the same (except the original version had the worst dungeon ever).
Besides button layout, its exactly the same game. The 3DS version just has some better graphics and that's about it.

Z-Targeting is Magic, one of the features that helped translate Zelda into 3D and by some accounts made it one of the best games.

You have to play the game to understand sidequesting. It's all about the experience and the woven story. Plus, sidequests give you useful items. It's fun to do side quests for items to help you on your quest, just like an old Zelda game.

Isn't it? That's why I chose to get Ocarina 3DS instead of...uh, Ocarina 64 or Gamecube.

Doesn't the 3DS version have the Master Quest too? I was looking into that.

How about having to jump pillars across a pit with no enemies around?

I will probably try once I drill the three-day cycle thing down. I know what sidequests are, this isn't going to be my first Zelda game.

Masterquest was introduced in the Gamecube OoT. But yeah, it's in the 3DS version.

Use L to center camera. Then jump

It's not that hard to understand or to get used to, and sidequests are a bit different in MM. They are more story involved.

DS2's director also worked on Monster Hunter, which explains much. While it was mechanically improved, the DS flavor took a severe beating. Supposedly the expansions fix that problem. If only I could beat that Pursuer. I might just progress through the Bastile from the Wharf since I already beat the Flexible Sentry.

Well, when I am playing Ike it's not so bad
but you have no way of knowing if I am playing Ike
At least put a time limit on your 5 stock matches
