It's nothing new, but it's still always a cause for concern - especially for parents - when shenanigans like this happen. Apparenlty, a mother found pornographic drawings inside her 6-year-old boy's copy of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games.

The copy was already used and bought from GameStop. Recounted Traci Turner, her son suddenly yelled upon finding the explicit drawings inside the cover. "They were extremely inappropriate. It was very sexual in nature and I was not prepared to answer the questions of what was going on in the picture."

She immediately reported the situation to the GameStop branch where they bought the copy from, but all they got was a "Thank you for calling" and then the dial tone.

To make things worse, the scene went down while his son had his playmates over, and so they too saw the sexual images. "It was kind of shocking because I expected them ot have more of a reaction like I did. Like, 'Oh my gosh, you can bring it to us. I apologize." For their part, the GameStop employee did maintain that she gave out an apology to Turner about the unfortunate incident.

With this experience, the lesson that she now learned is to never buy used games and instead get new ones. GameStop has always been a strong advocate of used games, saying that it actually does help the industry.

Well, it's the clerk's responsibility to check the game's case for any dangerous, or offensive material. Honestly, If I was mother, I would still purchase used games for my child, but I would makes sure to check the case first. There's no need to flip out and shun used games from yourself.

I heard somethin similar to this. A fear years ago this kid got a psp from wal-mart and he saw some pornographic pictures on the psp. Im not sure if it was used or new, probably new. This was a couple of days ago too but the weird part is when someone sells used games, gamestop is suppose to look in the cover to check the conditions of the cd and see if the manual was in there. Also there are suppose to look in there when someone buys it but it looks like they didnt but why?

Sometime GS employes do check the contnents of the item the person is selling them...sometimes the're tired and wanna go home and blow up s#!t in fallout 9001 or twit their tiwts on facepalmbook. Sad isin't...

I remember about 3 years ago when I bought KHII used ata store called Play 'N Trade, the employe was checking the cover inside out and the instruction manual... for 3 minintes.

I asked "Curious to see what the games like?", he replied "We're required to check the innerpackage contents of all used material for "stuff that dosen't belong" before sale".

So I asked "'Ya mean like game/movie in the wrong case?", then he said "Not just that, but questionable material like racial, graphic, and pornographic". He said a while back there was a copy of KHI that was sold had drawn porno images, ina piece of paper in a envlope behind the instruction manual. The customer (a 46yr old who bought it for his son) was furious and made threats to sue them, but then they gave him 2 free PS2 games and a memory card, then he walked away and was never seen again.

Human error is expected. And they're used games, after all. Those guys knew what they were getting themselves into.

Yeah, clearly buying used games that profits Gamestop instead of new games that profits the GAMING INDUSTRY helps the GAMING INDUSTRY.

God I ****ing hate Gamestop. For their on occasion **** employees (you know, the kind of teenage douche bag reject McDonalds and grocery stores get often), their overly high used game prices and other rip-off merchandise, and stupid occurrences like this. Alone, none of these problems are a reason to hate a company. Together, they're all the reason the way I see it. =/

The only thing good about Gamestop is working at one.

Ahah, I remember hearing about that the day it happened.

things like this though rare, still happen...... i remember in the 90's a spate of internet dares which went round the globe..... ranging from sticking porn inside normal magazines..... to gluing shut pages of books in the middle.... silly little things

and to this day you still get the odd one popping up in local press reports etc......

thats life......

but to stop purchasing certain items due to it? nah.... im a parent and though id like to think nothing untoward would appear in something my child bought....

but I AM the parent.... not the shop keeper, ultimately its my job to look out for her.

^That. Though im not a parent.

Honestly, I love my local GameStop because the clerks are mad cool, and its the only place that does the trade in stuff. Plus they carry a lot of old gear that most GS's are sold out of.

With a bit more work, you can sell your games at a price slightly lower to gamestops for practically double the profit, man. I understand if you don't feel like working to get that extra $10 and such every time you've got a game you're sick of and pawn it off to those rat-cheap bastards (I'm guilty of it... .-.), but yeah. Might as well let a fellow gamer buy it cheaper and you get more profit, yeah?

Or you can just copy their used game prices and get epic profit, better you than them.

/seriously hates gamestop. srsly
