What's your pokemon team?

I revised my previous Gen. 6 team. Here's what I got:

Ferrothorn @Leftovers
Impish
252 HP/48 Def/208 SpD
Iron Barbs
-Protect
-Leech Seed
-Power Whip
-Thunder Wave

Rotom-W @Chesto Berry
Calm
252 HP/4 SpA/252 SpD
Levitate
-Hydro Pump
-Volt Switch
-Will-O-Wisp
-Rest

Excadrill @Balloon (Leftovers?)
Jolly
176 HP/60 Atk/252 SpD/20 Spe
Mold Breaker
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Rapid Spin

Gengar @Life Orb (Considered using Black Sludge, decided not to)
Timid
4 HP/252 SpA/252 Spe
Levitate
-Shadow Ball
-Sludge Bomb
-Focus Blast
-Hypnosis

Florges @Leftovers (I only have one Leftovers in Pokemon Y, trying to find a replacement for Leftovers on Florges)
Calm
252 HP/4 SpA/ 252 SpD
Flower Veil
-Wish
-Moonblast
-Protect
-Aromatherapy

Talonflame @No Item
Joly
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Gale Wings
-Acrobatics
-Flare Blitz
-U-Turn
-Roost

There's your first problem.

Talonflame also enjoys holding an item, Brave Bird is worth it despite the recoil. It also prefers Adamant due to its getting priority on said flying move. Max speed isn't even really necessary, but it's viable.

unfocus blast is also an issue lul

Yesz! 'Specially since U-turn will do **** damage without any sort'a boosting item.

Max speed isn't even really necessary, but it's viable.

nope.avi

Yeah, you probably wanna invest some in HP and not max out speed, but some speed is best to outspeed certain threats, especially the ones that resist flying. Not sure what those are off hand.

I reckon the main use of Speed EVs would be to **** opposing Talonflame.

That's literally the only reason I said that max speed was viable. Otherwise....

Smogon user said:
'll just post a list of what Talonflame could aim to outspeed: (I could be missing things, who knows?)

Adamant Nature:
-0 Speed EVs: 288 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 81s and below (Diggersby, Mega Heracross, Scizor, Dragonite, etc.), or neutral-natured fully invested Base 94s and below (Adamant/Modest Lucario prior to Mega evolution, etc.)
-60 Speed EVs: 303 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 88s (Jolly Excadrill).
-76 Speed EVs: 307 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 90s (Jolly/Timid non-Mega Lucario)
-156 Speed EVs: 327 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 99s (+Speed Genesect)
-164 Speed EVs: 329 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 100s (+Speed Jirachi)
-176 Speed EVs: 332 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 101s (+Speed Thundurus-T)
-208 Speed EVs: 339 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 105s (+Speed Mega Pinsir)
-236 Speed EVs: 347 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 108s (Jolly Cobalion)

Jolly Nature:
-136 Speed EVs: 354 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 111s (+Speed Thundurus-I)
-144 Speed EVs: 356 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 112s (+Speed Mega Lucario)
-164 Speed EVs: 361 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested Scarfed +Speed Base 60s (Timid Scarf Magnezone)
-168 Speed EVs: 363 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 115s (Timid Raikou)
-248 Speed EVs: 385 Speed. Outspeeds Fully invested +Speed Base 125s (Jolly Weavile)
-252 Speed EVs: 386 Speed. Max speed.

I bolded the ones that are the most relevant in OU.

So, I personally will be running 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe Adamant post-Pokebank, and 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Spe Adamant pre-Pokebank. But you can pick these as you see fit. For example, if you think that only being able to OHKO Genesect after one Swords Dance is fine, and relying on teammates to kill Jirachi and Thundurus-T is fine too, then you can run as low as 60 Speed EVs.

I have a created a new team for beta UU:

Sableye (F) @ Leftovers (Just for you, Nicky)
+1

Superpower is way better than Brick Break on Scizor. Yeah, it doesn't lower your defense/attack, but you'll be switching out a lot anyway, so that first attack needs to count. Bullet Punch is great, as usual. You want U-turn on there as well, over either X-Scissor or Aerial Ace. Speaking of X-Scissor, if you want a bug attack that doesn't switch you out, go with Bug Bite, which gets boosted to 90 BP. I don't advice Aerial Ace or Bug Bite, though. Pursuit or something seems better.

Sableye seems good. I've seen a lot of spreads max out HP and either defense or special defense, but like you, I'm going with mixed bulk for now. I prefer it, but I'll consider concentrated bulk more l8r. Anyways, I don't really like Night Shade. Foul Play or Knock Off are much better. The former hurts Pokemon with high physical attack quite a bit, and Knock Off removes items. Knock Off isn't weak anymore, either, as it's 65 BP, and gets boosted to 97 during the item removing hit. That can hurt frail Pokemon or Pokemon weak to Dark. Remember that Mega Stones can't be knocked off.

Eeeeh. Claydol. You can try it, but I dunno. If I recall, its typing is mediocre, and it can't recover health. Anyways, aside from preferring more mixed bulk, I don't like EQ and Ice Beam on the same set. I feel like another support move, like Toxic, would be more useful. I don't know why it wants to be slow, either.

Hyper Voice gets the Pixalate boost, making it the better option. Besides that, it seems good at first glance. I advise taking some EV's from Sp. Defense and putting them in Defense, however, as it could use some physical bulk.

Sacred Sword is a good move. However, despite that, Close Combat's sheer power is generally better. Besides that, it seems good at first glance.

Timid on Charizard, it's in an important speed tier. Unsure what the best moveset is, but I don't think Dragon Pulse is the best option. Fire Blast is probably better than Flamethrower, too.

One more thing. Even on Pokemon that don't need speed, make sure everything has at least 4 or 8 in speed. You outspeed uninvested Pokemon with the same base speed. That opposing Sableye won't be happy when you Taunt it first.

Unsure about the team as a whole, right now. Seems Talonflame weak, I can say that right now.
