Forum Problem?

TheStakes said:
I Can't, as I put in the bottom of my first message (as I didn't think it warranted a new thread all by itself) I CAN'T PM ANYONE!!!

As far as I am aware, I did not break any forum rules. My post was not a "double post". I posted my details previously. I then posted a messge asking for someone to add me so that I could get it tested as no-one had replied previously, and at the same time I added my console number again.

And isn't this the ideal place for this discussion?

And have you deleted my reply to AW4L on the Share Code Thread? Why? it was a reply telling him I added him, how else will he know to add me to his Wii?? Or is replying to post on that thread against the rules? If it is then you have a lot of posts to delete, or are you just picking on me now?

You are new, please understand and admit that you are like every other new person here, who does not know the rules fully and is bound to make mistakes, and think they are not mistakes at all.
I don't blame you for being wrong, your new. But I'm just trying to make you understand that you should read around more before posting.
The share friend code thread is for stating your code. That is all. We don't need discussion on there telling people that they have added them. There have been thousands of posts deleted like that and yours will be too.
If you have a problem with the forum, post it in the correct section and you will get all the help you need. Or even better, use the forums search function and look for the help you need.
I have addressed your problems, now please stop posting here, as this is time that could be better used for everyone.
Thanks.

OK, last post on the subject.

If I broke a rule then I do apologise. I still think I haven't but you think I have and even thought I have been creating, administrating and moderating forums since before the internet (or yourself) were around, you are a moderator of this forum so you win by default. My gripe in this thread is the way you handled this. When someone breaks a rule, surely it's best to tell them that they have done so. This way they will know what rule they have broken and will know not to do it again. Just deleting post seems like a bad (if not unmannerly) way to do it.

As for the last part of your post?

Seems like a bit of a contradiction to me (not to mention your signature about moderators not biting - I feel well and truly bitten).

Anyway, thanks for your advice. As for the way you handled this - I don't blame you for being wrong - we all make mistakes, and some people can't help but let the power of being a moderator go to their heads. Also, might be worth reading the first of the site rules yourself. Thanks for being so welcoming, I am so looking forward to my next visit.

Goodnight all.

You may or may not have been a moderator before, but right now, you are not.
If you had a better understanding of the rules and how exactly to be a moderator, you would be one. I am the moderator right now and I am here for a reason. If you have a problem with me, feel free to join the "Prez is to strict" fanclub.
If you have any questions about the rules we have here, or any material you are unsure of, thats why I am here, helping you. Message me anytime and I can help you with any problems you may be experiencing. If you can't message me, then we have a section here that you can post in for help.
Now, I tell you one last time, do not further question my moderating ability (unless it is in a private message, addressed to me) and do not post further in this thread, you are making this more of a problem than it has to be.

I know - I said that as well.

What? That makes no sense? Why would I be a moderator of a forum I just joined? I know how to be a moderator, I am of quite a few forums. Just not of this one (see earlier point).

Show me the way ;-)

Yawol Herr Furher!

PS. It was more of a questioning your manners than your ability. I can heartily recommend your ability to delete posts. :)

PPS. I also noticed you keep avoiding the questions I ask, are you planning on being a politician when you grow up?

Well, it's 2:30am here in the UK and I have work tomorrow. Goodnight.

PS If you really don't want me to reply - lock the thread!!!

Just some advice from a fellow moderator :)

I doubt you have even the slightest bit of moderating, or even forum, experience.
You keep breaking rules that are pretty much applied on every single forum on the internet. (double posting, etc..)
If you knew how to use a forum you might have known that I actually can't lock the thread.
I realize it's easy to look big on the internet, but please, if your going to try and impress people with your fake accomplishments, do it to someone else because I really am not interested.
Stop double posting, and the next time any moderator on this, or any forum asks you to do something (or not to do something), listen to them. Or maybe you won't be so lucky as to even have posting privileges.

OK, I'm more than twice your age, I've been in IT for 20 years. I've been creating Bulittin Boards and forums before you were born. I've been designing websites and forums before you were born. However it's your choice to believe that or not.

Most forums do frown upon double posting (not that I consider my reply in the forum to be a double post but that's beside the point at this stage). However, most moderators on these forums would not go all Hitler on someone who made a mistake on their second post in a forum. A simple reply, a PM or edit the post and add a tag to say "Don't double post" would do the job and would do it a lot better.

As for locking the thread, any decent forum software like this PHP forum will allow locking and closing of threads. If you can't lock this thread then it's probably because of your moderator level doesn't allow it (maybe it's you age - the admins may think your not old enough?). If it's the forum then maybe the admins/owner needs new software, I suspect the first case, especially as the icons at the bottom of the forums show threads that have new post, threads that have no new posts and "Closed Threads".

And finally, it's a sure sign of immaturity to reply to this thread and then ban me from the forum so I can't reply, but don't worry about it, there are lots of Wii forums around. I'll go to one of the others where if a newbie makes a mistake they encourage correctness rather than stomp on them.

Don't worry about banning this ID it won't be used again.

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.

Actually, what I meant was simply that I am not a moderator in this particular section.
Please don't make more accounts though, especially for just one post. Its a total waste of space, and if it's only for a conversation with me, then your better off just messaging me.
Like I said before though, when I was first helping you out, its alright that you broke the rules because your a new member. I have no problem with that. Simply trying to get new members used to the forum and it's rules.
