Naw that update proved some shoddy-*** online. :(
Worms is from a diff company. Diff values 'n' priorities. Sakurai seems fairly focused on 1 player tbh.
the truth is noone knows how online will be. although we dont want friend codes, they are there for strikers and you dont see people bitchin about it. the hxc strikers players will do it cause they have to same with smash. the casual smasher doesnt know the difference so either way we still have to put up with FCs

The Wii has sooooo many possibilities but its not using them!!! I mean there online play could dominate Xbox Live and Ps3 whatever but they wont becuase they think simple is best, I think there just making it simple so younger kids can play so i have a question nintendo WTF are you doing about the newer audience you just got are you limiting them to simple?? It would be awesome if they would make a more complex online play mode with match making, mics or chat, custom rules, ADDING FRIENDS ONLINE!!!!! they have soo much capibilities but i think their scared to drift from there main audience that they think are little kids who like simple stuff

me=don't care about friend codes, probably cause i don't care much bout online...

plus i'm good with memorizing numbers(probably my best skill/talent), and i could memorize a whole friend code, however i wouldn't be able to memorize someone's name like T3h PO0w3nzORer

Well lemme just say this. I like the strikers ranking board and user profile. Strikers maintained a believible wi-fi experience even with a certain ammount of annonymity. If you go beyond the ammount Strikers had, then you'll spoil the whole mode. Brawl-Sakurai does not seem to be taking this into consideration. If you have a great match on the anyone mode the chance of playing the same person again are slim to none since they'll have no name therefore if you want to find them on an online Wii players network(the way I get guys on strikers), you can't. That sucks for many people except for weird fanboys like mush and his rediculous post above me. "I an remember numbers but not names" not all names are crappy leet. e.g. MINE!!! You can remember a code over my name sure... oh the rest of the gaming population can too... yeah right. Everybody is like you and doesn't are for online... riiiight. WTF are ya tryin'a prove...

Also I like your avy... :p

I'm not too worried about it.

The way I look at it is that SSB will always be a party game. If the online sucks, so be it. All I'll need online for is Brawling into the early hours of the morning, then my friends can come over and we can play the kickass multiplayer mode. In a sense, Sakurai is thanking us for keeping the game at its roots, by making more options available in multiplayer that aren't online.

they are scared to drift from their main CASUAL audience because if parents buy the kid friendly wii and the kid has a headset and some douche is cursing off a 9 year old for sucking at smash you have an unhappy parent and customer. nintendo needs to sell to their core demographic because they cant make up for it in windows sales or walkman sales like microsoft and sony can. and you can say casuals arent wiis core demo but in reality, how many douche bag hardcore gamers hate wii? how many 3rd parties actually make good games for wii? even if the wiis online was phenomenal and all open and crap theyd lose a lot of casuals and NOT gain hardcore gamers because they still think "teh graphix suck!" or "itz still fo teh kiddiez!"

im not trying to fight and i wish nintendo would do all that but they cant risk losing their casual base because they cant make money on anything but video games.

actually your the jerk, THATS why he didn't update the site with All the magical things you expected. i never remembered that it wasnt a world wide update so thats why i also thought it was going to be huge. suck it up, its just an update, theres plenty more.

What a stupid case to defend. Are you retarted? America is a huge country, and has the biggest fan basis (Even if the % is lower than others). People expected the update to be big because this was to come out. He commented on how sorry he was. We figured he'd try to make it up for us. But nope, he decided to do a jo-average update. I figured as much.

Anyway, I personally dont think that we will have full cusimation of matches. I kinda doubt youl be able to do special melee kinda stuff. Im hoping that hel at least let us do stock..or time matches. So meh, wel just have to wait and see.

And for yall commenting on the screenshots..he's done a great job hiding stuff in early screenshots of the game. Who says that he isn't trying to hide it now?

you guys are forgetting that this was a north american release date, not an american release date...but kinda typical

I think this game is going to surpass striker's online service , it kidna already is with sending stage builder/screen shots......keep in mind there probably still is a lot of other tools that use the wi-fi service

I just thought an evil thought.

What if the stage select is like Strikers - random?

Sadly the core, multiplayer seems lower than the Strikers... now.
