You saying that means that basically any well designed character can be thrown into this game when it simply isn't true at all. There's reasons for competition in every industry, but now it seems SEGA and Nintendo have joined forces, which I don't like. If I found something appealling about a SEGA game I would go for it, but I chose Nintendo, hopefully thinking that they would stay that way. If there were harmony in the videogame industry, which will never ever happen either, we would surely only have one system to play... And nothing would encourage designers to make up good games then. Is that what you really want?
Prissy little kids are unhappy that Sonic went down in the 90's and can't get over it, and a lot of them have moved onto Nintendo. It's like the best thing that could ever happen to them if Sonic could finally fight with Mario. Sorry, I just never saw it that way.
Sonic is not a fighter, and his moves seem bleak, he doesn't fit in with the design of the Nintendo characters, neither does Snake, to be perfectly honest, I have a problem with him being in this game as well, don't get me wrong. Both of those characters don't control in the same way as Nintendo characters, it's just not right.
Ehh, don't get me started.

I'd have to agree with you about third party characters, but I am going to disagree with you on the 'flow' or 'feel' of nintendo games and that sonic can't come close to the flow/feel. I think sonic and the secret rings has a closer 'feel' to mp3, loz:tp, smg than warioware:smooth moves....and how is sonic 'not a fighter', he attacks people in most of his game, and he's been in 2 fighting games, care to explain why he's not a fighter, but mario is?
