Lol, a game like WoW isnt hardcore. I played WoW I made 1 character, leveled it and realized how stupid it was.

Dont expect me to be sympathetic because you almost got yourself killed by a game addiction, it isn't a drug. You and your stupid friend are weak minded. That doesnt make the **** hardcore, it makes you guys stupid. Hardcore is when you have to truly work at a game because its an actual paying job, you have to practive 8 hours a day playing non stop to get good at it. Not because some random nerd decides he wants to hit level 70 in one day.

For one thing, that was a medical condition. I didn't almost die because of the game. My pancreas didn't say "He's playing an awful lot, I might just explode." Most news reports and specialist, whoever they may be say that World of Warcraft is especially interesting because it's one of the first none physically addictions that shows the same signs as a real drug addiction. World of Warcraft is the first game that psychologically affects the mind. It's said that an addiction to World of Warcraft is possibly far more addicting then some of the less "hardcore" drugs. It's ranked by certain doctors and psychologists as a medical condition now and they actually treating people in recovery clinics, like a drug addict, recovering from Warcraft. Some places in America were considering limiting the amount of time allowed on Warcraft because of how dangerous it has shown to be to the mind. They do this in China already because it's gotten extremely bad in that region of the World. Blizzard has sold over 9 Million copies of this particular. That in its self speaks for the game. But, I'm done arguing with you. You obviously know nothing about what you are discussing, sadly. I've done a lot of research as I wrote a college report on different psychological reactions people have to certain things such as pornography, games, media, and etcetera. This game was one of the main topics in the paper. I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with someone so close-minded.

wow is hardcore it not for me.i fought it was to repeditive.
and how are you supposed to play wow at wcg ffs it impossible if you think not then you havent played the game long enough(i played for just over a day but i am into other mmorpg games)

i'm not really one to make any kind of arguement about what's hardcore and what isn't since i'm between a casual gamer and a hardcore gamer. But to say that WoW is stupid because all you do is kill things and level up, well my friend it seems like you just described almost every shooter, rpg, or platform game ever made... I don't play WoW, never have and i have no plans on ever playing it, but so say a game is stupid and that is your arguement seems a bit ridiculous. I'm not saying you should like the game for whatever reason, i'm sure you don't like it, but you might want to make your arguement a bit better.

Well put. I'm not a fan of WoW either, and it's because of all the hardcore nerds that play it. The game just isn't fun for me when there's too many people spending 40+ hours a week on it just to own everyone in pvp instances.

But I don't deny that it's hardcore. It's extremely hardcore. To think otherwise is just clear ignorance. No other game can claim it has that many users/caused that much damage to so many people because of their addiction.

WoW is definitely hardcore, but it is also the most casual friendly MMO currently out. Which is the main reason it's subscription numbers are... insane.
