Very nice. Everything written there is very true. The Famicom was a very popular system, so replicating it's launch is a VERY smart idea. It's either that, or they can replicate the Playstation 2 launch...

Not much I can say about this article... I must say it is very interesting to mention the correlation between the NES and the Wii launch.

This could be a very accurate prediction for the Wii launch - history often repeats itself. If it works, try again... If it doesn't try a different method.

I enjoy hearing more about the Wii launch compared to the other consoles because they are offering something ENTIRELY new and along with it comes a HUGE range of launch titles for all kinds of gamers and non gamers. The other console launches offer certain games that mostly appeal to the hardcore gamer. The control layouts of these often mimic the layouts of previous games FPS games such as Halo and TimeSplitters. And the controller is pretty much the same, if not with an extra button or joystick that's not really necessary...

A good friend of mine is getting a PS3 and I asked him how much it was and he said 1.5 grand (Australian Dollars). I asked him if its worth spending that much money on a console... Obviously he's never heard of the Wii or thinks its a kiddy console.
