Nintendo has already stated that the Wii will use the Nintendo Wi-Fi connect and work the same way as it does for the NDS it will connect to a access point, a router or wireless networking device, or the NWC USB adapter for the computer. It has also been stated that there will be a device that will allow people with out Wireless internet to use a adapter for ethernet that connects to one of the usb ports on the Wii. Wether or not the Wii will use the same friend code system is still being decided on.
