It just seems like having to scroll through 11 color variations won't even be worth picking my favorite color for.

I want a Shadow costume for Sonic

You cant make Shadow a "costume" for sonic. They are two completely diffrent characters. Thats like making Wario's alternate costume Waluigi, or Fox's alternate costume Falco.( that would probably piss of AtomicB) Maybe they can make shadow an assist trophy.

uhh but they are characters that look exactly the same except colors, notice how mario has a luigi and wario costume?

Look at the update again, Cyan.

This outfit appears after the six standard color variations.

Sonic does turn yellow when he gets the choas crystals

yeah and Samus turns blue after her FSA and Bowser turns into a vicious giant, but that has not anything to do with alternate costumes or colors.
