If you wanna play a pure chance based game, play fire red/leaf green, capture 6 Clefairy's, and let them all have Metronome. I would be AMAZED if anyone can get through the game like that.

Using metronome for an entire day's playtime doesn't sound like too much fun, though...

Old news, CK. I gave it a Rock Helmet and finished that team. I dont really like it, so Im going to plan out a better one.

Gonna do a ditto monotype/single/unevolved challenge. sounded interesting and challenging.

Umm....isn't that basically impossible?

First, the monotype rules alone prohibit alternate forms that alter your original type (transform does).

Secondly, unevolved is impossible because A, ditto doesn't -have- an evolution and B, some trainers start out by battling you with evolved pokemon and since the ONLY move you can have is transform, you basically -have- to transform into an evolved pokemon in order to survive. Ditto can't learn any TM's or HM's and learns no moves other than transform so....this can't really work.

If youre going to do a Ditto mono run, do it in BW, where you can get Dittos useful DW ability, Imposter. This allows the blob to transform right when its sent into battle.

Of course, you would have to hack to get it, but oh well. ^^;

Welcome to the forums, Shawshank! =) Your combined challenge isn't unevolved or monotype, though; monotype doesn't work with the single challenge since you're only using one poke regardless, and unevolved won't apply to Ditto since it never evolves anyway.

But if you want to handle a single Ditto run, then...

If you can stick it the entire way through, you've got my respect. :lol: I don't think I'd be able to stand hitting enemy rock types with Tackle or Rock Throw after the 50th time...

Just an update on my progress with a normal monotype challenge-

Haven't had a lot of time to play but I'm nearing the first Gym with a Skitty, Taillow, Whismur, Zigzagoon, and Slakoth. I think those'll be my five pokemon and Marill as a surfing/Waterfall/Dive HM slave. I'm gonna evolve every one of them fully except for maybe Slakoth all the way into Slaking mainly because I -really- hate that delay every turn...

Well, if you can get Slaking to OHKO everything, you could switch him out before truant kicks in... But I hear ya regardless. When I first got my own Slaking on my first Sapphire playthrough, truant pissed me off like no other ability. :lol: Dumped 'em in a box, and he never came out.

Also, I wont be using items like Potions and Full Heals, to make it more challenging. But I will use hold items if I think its a good idea.

G'iterdone, Nicky. :thumbsup: Hold items hardly make any difference, so ya might as well just not use 'em IMO.

... Which reminds me, I should probably make the "no items" challenge official.

yah i will be doing a full 6 team XD forgot to add that to post. i should be able to find a friend to get me eggs for them pokemon but im gunna do it by adding one pokemon after each gym so hopefully i can make this work out haha
